18th District Information
The Kansas House of Representatives is comprised of 125 different districts. Effective with the elections in 2002, all of the districts were restructured to reflect the findings from the 2000 U.S. Census. At that time, due to population increases, Johnson County went from 20 to 22 districts.
The boundaries for the 18th District are roughly the Johnson/Wyandotte County line on the north, Renner Road on the west, Switzer on the east, and Shawnee Mission Parkway,67th and 69th Streets on the South (download a map of the 18th District).
The 18th District contains parts of just two cities – Lake Quivera and Shawnee. Specific demographics from the 2000 Census were prepared at the time of redistricting.
