Cindy Neighbor files for State Representative from the 18th Kansas House DistrictCindy Files for State Representative (December 30, 2005):  Cindy Neighbor of Shawnee announced she would run for the Kansas House of Representatives in the 18th district as a Democrat. Neighbor made her announcement in front of a small crowd of supporters at Herman Laird Park, next to Shawnee Town. "I have made this transition because I believe the current leadership of the Kansas Republican Party has lost touch with its roots and has abandoned the traditions and values that so many of us hold dear," she said.
